Guess where we’ll “BEE” next Saturday, May 16th?

Forgive us for the puns…the answer to the question is that we plan to “buzz over” to the 3rd annual West Seattle Bee Festival at High Point Commons Park (6400 Sylvan Way SW, Seattle, WA 98126). We’ll be among the community groups participating in the Information Fair this coming Saturday, May 16th. The Information Fair runs from 11:30 AM until 2 PM.

The West Seattle Bee Festival starts at 9 AM with the Honey Run, and there are other fun and educational activities — for adults, as well as kids — that follow. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the West Seattle Bee Garden. Between noon and 2 PM, they offer free tours of the bee enclosure!

We’ve included the West Seattle Bee Festival informational flyer with additional details below..

Summer Fest has wrapped up… What’s next?

We had a great time at West Seattle Summer Fest 2013 yesterday. It was nice to meet so many of you!

Thanks for stopping by our booth in the Commmunity Tent at Summer Fest 2013!

As Summer Fest wraps up this evening, we are looking ahead to these upcoming events:

  • Summer Social at Salty’s on Alki (Thursday, July 25th, 6 – 9 PM): West Seattle Block Watch Captains’ Network is having a social/networking event! Salty’s restaurant has graciously offered us the use of their venue and will be providing free appetizers. Please RSVP (wsblockwatchnet@gmail.com or 206 424-0040) so we can send you more details as well as let them know how many people to expect. Note that this party REPLACES our July and August monthly meetings.

  • Night Out block parties (Tuesday August 6th): These happen throughout West Seattle, and beyond, each August on the 1st Tuesday evening. Meeting and talking with your neighbors is an important step in being prepared; in an emergency, you may need to rely on each other for help. If you wish to block off your street for a block party; visit the link above to register your event.

  • Delridge Day AND the SW Precinct Picnic (Saturday, August 17th): Both of these events occur on the same day and offer food, entertainment and activities for kids. Fortunately, they aren’t far apart, so attendees should be able to attend both! We’ll post more details as the day gets closer – we’re planning to have an informational booth at each, so plan to stop by to pick up materials and say hi. UPDATE, 7/16/13: We’ve just learned that these two events will now be held jointly. Click here for details.

There are other fun West Seattle events this summer, but we’re only highlighting those that are in some way related to Block Watch or that our West Seattle Block Watch Captains’ Network plans to attend.

We’ll be at SummerFest tomorrow! See you there?

A reminder that West Seattle Blockwatch Captains’ Network will be at West Seattle SummerFest tomorrow & Sunday (in the neighborhood group booth which is at 4704 California Ave SW, near Sound  Advice and the Classic Barber Shop).

We’ll be staffing the booth from 10 – 2 on Saturday (possibly other times as well).

Stop by to pick up informational materials, ask questions or just say hi. We have FREE “No Soliciting” signs (while supplies last) & other useful materials!

Hope to see you at the festival!

Yay! Today is the BW Captains’ Appreciation Party!!!
