Updated, 9:15 PM: We learned this evening that the GiveBIG website has experienced technical difficulties today, so their deadline has been extended through tomorrow, May 4th.

GiveBIG on Tuesday, May 5th!

Did you know that this coming Tuesday, May 5th, marks the 5th annual GiveBIG campaign? The Seattle Foundation sponsors this one-day, online charitable giving event to raise awareness and make it easy to donate to nonprofit organizations who are doing good work in our community.

If you want to support us, you can donate to our group on Tuesday (or at any time) via the Seattle Neighborhood Group, which is one of the groups included in the GiveBIG campaign. [Updated 5/5/15:  Just learned that GiveBIG donations need to be made via this page today. Money donated via this campaign is then amplified beyond face value – so your donation will go further.]

Seattle Neighborhood Group is our fiscal sponsor, and your donations to the West Seattle Block Watch Captains’ Network (WSBWCN) via their organization are tax deductible! They provide fiscal sponsorship services for quite a few small grassroots community groups such as ours, who do not have 501c3 status yet.

To donate after the GiveBIG campaign is over, just visit the Seattle Neighborhood Group website (sngi.org); there you’ll see a “Donate” form in the left-hand menu on their home page. Select “West Seattle Block Watch Captains’ Network” from the dropdown list of community groups; then click “Buy Now.”

Many thanks to those of you who sponsor or donate to our organization! Contributions help fund social events like the Block Watch Appreciation Party, as well as pay for printed outreach materials and other expenses.

Thanks! And, giving…

As the holidays and the end of the year approach, we wanted to express our thanks to those of you who have participated in our meetings and events, or otherwise contributed to our organization this past year. Thank you for your energy, insights and ideas! We’ve enjoyed getting to know you and work with you to make our community safer and more connected.
