Join us on January 22nd for our first meeting of the year!

WSBWCN-giant-logocurrentWe have a full agenda this month with a focus on timely topics!

Our main presentation topic is 9-1-1, something most of us take for granted until something goes wrong…

Our guest speaker will be Kayreen Lum, the E-911 Outreach and Training Specialist for King County. She will talk about the recent 9-1-1 outage, what caused it, and what to do if it happens again. She’ll also explain when and how to use the relatively new option, to send text messages to 9-1-1 (which is now available in Seattle and King County).

We’ll begin the meeting with a few announcements; introductions; and an update from SW Precinct leadership, Captain Pierre Davis on recent and current crime/safety issues.

As we go round-the-room during introductions this month, please let us know (very briefly) your top Block Watch-related priorities or concerns that we might leverage for upcoming meeting topics this year. We are also gathering concerns that we can provide to our City Council member-at-large, Teresa Mosqueda. She’s asked us about the priorities and issues of most concern to our organization. Time-permitting, we’ll have a few minutes to touch on these during the meeting. If not, please send us your input via email, post a comment on our Facebook group page, or bring us a printout that we can take along.

Here’s the detailed agenda.
