Join us Tuesday, June 23rd, for our monthly meeting!

WSBWCN-giant-logocurrent Come hear from Mark Solomon and pick up materials for your Night Out parties!

This is the last meeting before our Summer Hiatus! Since we don’t meet in July or August, and Night Out is on August 4th, this is an excellent opportunity to pick up any informational materials that you’d like to pass along to your neighbors. We will have kid’s items (bags, stickers, coloring books), as well as useful information for grown-ups (brochures/flyers on Personal Safety, Suspicious Activity, Vehicle Safety, Identity Theft (NEW!), SW Precinct contact numbers, and various emergency preparedness materials including Out-of-Area Contact cards).  Quite a few materials are translated into Spanish and many other languages.

Mark Solomon, our area Crime Prevention Coordinator, will be our special guest.  He will talk about the new effort being planned for Denny International Middle School to promote student safety before and after school.  It is based on the “ Safe Passages Program” that Rainier Beach is doing and that nationally has been done in Chicago and Los Angeles. It will be implemented at Denny when the school year begins in the fall.
