Take action at our meeting tomorrow to secure your stuff!

Join us tomorrow, October 28th, for our monthly meeting – the last meeting this year before our Holiday Hiatus!

WSBWCN-giant-logocurrent

If you are the victim of a theft or burglary, will you be able to tell law enforcement what has been taken and how it can be identified? Will you be able to prove ownership of your stuff once it is out of your hands?

How will you determine what is missing? Do you know the model and/or serial number? Do you have photographs of items that don’t have identifying marks?  Have you added any personal markings, such as your WA Driver License number, to your stuff?

At our meeting tomorrow, we’ll have a demo of the new engraving kits that were announced by Captain Steve Wilske, SW Precinct Commander, at our last meeting!  The kits are now available to borrow at no cost; they include inventory sheets as well as instructions. Community Police Team, Officer Jon Kiehn will give us tips on how to best inventory your stuff. He’ll also provide his insights about where NOT to store your valuables if you want to prevent thieves from taking them.

This will be a hands-on demonstration of the engraving toolkits. You are encouraged to bring an item (or two) to practice on!

Meeting schedule (come early, stay late!)

  1. I regret I won’t be able to attend tonight’s meeting. I’ve forwarded your announcement to our Block Watch, and have asked my neighbors to bring an item to practice on if they can attend. I’ve also asked them to request an engraving kit so we can begin circulating it around our block watch.

If none of my neighbors attend or pick up a kit, then next month I hope to borrow a kit and learn how to use it.

    Thank you~ Mayo Date: Tue, 28 Oct 2014 03:50:15 +0000 To: m_ochiltree@hotmail.com
