Our May 24th West Seattle Blockwatch Captains’ Network (WSBWCN) meeting will be an educational Field Trip! Come learn more about Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
We had a great presentation about CPTED by Officer Jon Kiehn at our March meeting and there was a lot of interest in a follow-up and in evaluating real houses. So, we have found some gracious West Seattle home owners who are willing to have their home become the focus of CPTED training and evaluation.
We will meet initially at the SW Precinct at our normal time, normal day (see details below). After brief introductions and news updates, Officer Kiehn will review the CPTED principles for those who weren’t there for the March meeting and to refresh them for those who were. Then, we’ll carpool or drive over to the demonstration house, do an exterior walk-about and an interior walk-through.
We invite everyone throughout the SW Precinct (even if you aren’t a Blockwatch Captain) to attend and improve your CPTED knowledge and skills!
